Learn to Swim Program
Learn to Swim is a program designed to teach all the swim skills your child needs to be safe in and around the water while enhancing each child’s desire and ability to swim. The swimmers are instructed in a variety of basic skills with the hope of increasing confidence in the water. The swimmers spend most of their time in the shallow end of the pool which is about 4 feet deep. We require that Learn To Swim participants be at least 5 years of age because of the depth of the water.
Our instructors take a “hands on” approach with the swimmers, in the water, ensuring a safe environment for learning. Besides the instructor, there is a lifeguard on the pool deck at all times. The maximum number of swimmers allowed in each session is 7, but typically there are 5 swimmers at any one time.
The lessons are held at the SUNY Fredonia Swimming Pool. Each lesson is 40 minutes long. Lessons are given in sessions that are two days a week for 4 weeks. The total cost for each session is $75, due at the beginning of each session.
You have a choice of:
Session 1 will begin on September 24
Session 2 will begin on October 22
Session 3 will begin on January 7
